2)  No appointments are necessary during the hours posted above – we serve on
a “first come first served basis” – if someone is a new client, we ask that they
identify themselves so we can start them on brief paperwork shortly after
they arrive.  If they want to call to see how busy we are that is fine.

Information that we require for processing eligibility:
a) You must be a resident of Perry County (there is no time requirement) a driver's license or utility bill is necessary to prove residency.
b) you must complete the income information. This is a “self declaration."
c)  If someone is picking up food for another client a proxy form must be filled out and kept on file at all times. A note is sufficient the first time but then the proxy must be completed for future pick-ups.

Other information:

The Food Bank is not open on Tuesday or Thursday.
You may shop once a month at the Food Bank in New Bloomfield
In addition to the Food Bank operation on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at New Bloomfield, we operate eight remote sites for distribution on the 3rd Saturday of each month (with the exception of Blain and Millerstown which is the Friday before the 3rd Saturday).  You are eligible for both opportunities—shopping at New Bloomfield and also picking up a box of groceries at one of the eight remote sites once each month.

Blain, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church • Duncannon, Christ Reformed Church • Ickesburg, Ickesburg Fire House • Liverpool, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church • Marysville, Wesley United Methodist Church • Millerstown, Millerstown Moose • New Bloomfield, Perry County Food Bank • Newport, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (This information is published in the Perry County papers the week before distribution.

Families may go to ONE of these Saturday sites, if needed, prior to coming in to New Bloomfield for registration (we would prefer you come to New Bloomfield first but realize in some circumstances that might not be possible).  In that event, you will be asked for the same information and asked to fill out the same form which will then be sent to us for verification and entrance into our system. You may go to ONLY ONE location on a given weekend– the location that you signed up for on your application. You may NOT pick up food at more than one location on the same weekend.  According to Dept of Agriculture guidelines, “double dipping” is grounds for removal from eligibility.
